Confirmed by both Hanser Holding and Danelectro Evets Corp: DANELECTRO 1998-2003 reissued GUITARS, HARDSHELL CASES AND COMBO AMPS ARE NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED NOR DISTRIBUTED, NOR IS THERE ANY WAREHOUSING OF ANY NOS STOCK; THEY'RE GONE FOLKS. Those very few new 1998-2003 r.i. Danelectro guitars that might still be in dealer stocks, are now NOS (New Old Stock) and dwindling fast. This places them in Vintage category and removes them from Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices (and well it should). Prices for NOS Danelectro 98-03 reissued guitars are now based upon market demand and will certainly rise accordingly. As I have said in my Dano newsletter for some time now; NOS Danos are rapidly becoming very scarce; I think it wise to get one anywhere you can if you want one NOS or even in Mint and Near Mint condition, as their values / prices will continue to rise as more and more Players are discovering these great guitars. I am experiencing a sharp rise in inquiries about Dano availability, particularly NOS; And a sharp rise in the number of people who right-off say they are willing to pay whatever the current market value is. My supply of Danelectros and their prices will depend upon my being able to find them somewhere at a reasonable price. Also please contact me if you have a NOS, Mint or Near-Mint 59DC, DC3, DC12, U3, Hodad, Mod, Guitarlin, Longhorn Bass, DC Bass, Inuendo, or Hearsay guitar you desire to sell, or if you find any places on the internet that still have any in stock. I also desire N50 & N70 NOS amps. I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you collectors find you any of those models in new condition now while they are still floating around; And Players get you a nice one while you can. I highly recommend the 59DC, U3, DC3 and Hodad (with tremelo or without), and the Mod6 and Mod7 as exceptionally good guitars sure to increase in value. TECH TIPS FOR PLAYERS: The U3 and DC3 provides all the incredible Dano character and has the middle pickup Strat tones as well; And the "blow" switch putting all 3 pickups in series (12K!) is ungodly lead tone and power. ---- The Hodad's 4 pickups in 2 pairs humbucking STYLE allows for parallel and/or series and in and/or out of phase combinations for any and all of the 4 pickups giving incredible tone selections. Although the Hodad pickups ARE NOT humbucking, they can be made to be by removing the pickup inner guts of 1 pickup in each pair and flipping them over for opposite magnetic pole polarity; IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH WAY A COIL IS WOUND for it to be humbucking in a pair of single coil pickups, ... it only requires that the winding be out of phase with the other pickup in the pair, ... the reverse magnet polarity puts it back into signal phase, ... and the Hodad will already do that with the coil phase switching already in place. ---- The Mod6 and Mod7 DO have a humbucking pair of lipsticks in the bridge pickup set. The Mod6 and Mod7 is quite surf-stylish and has some great unique tones. The humbucking bridge pickup pair, and in relation to the neck pickup, can be wired for phasing and series or parallel, which gives great tone selection AND 8K AND 12K IN SERIES COMBINATIONS. ALL Dano guitars are made very well (with the exception of some toggle switch problems and/or tone pot problems at the treble roll-off end, in some batches, ... either of which are easily fixed by a reasonably handy electronics person).
