This amp had been in regular use when I bought it several years back;  I have ops checked it and it operates well and loud.  I keep all amps cap-charged on a Variac manifold every 6 months.

Hand wired "army tank" with big guns and full professional stage features.  Tones to kill for.  Plenty of headroom for clean tones, plenty of features to dial in plenty of crunch, plenty of features to dial in a screaming and / or thundering banshee.  Very common among many top acts during the 1960s & 1970s until the original Sunn owners cashed out and new owners went the way of degradation common to the late 1970s, 80s and early 90s, and old vintage supply slowly faded away to attrition.  Now savored by the relatively few bassists / guitarists who are lucky enough to find them.

The sound of vintage Sunn is quite recognizeable by knowing the artists that used or continue to use Sunn amplifiers: Velvet Underground, The Who, The Moody Blues, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Kiss, Leslie West / Mountain, Steppenwolf, Rush, Queen, Marshall Grant / The Tennessee Three, The Stooges, Sleep, the Melvins, The Obsessed, Burning Witch, Goatsnake, Earth, Nirvana. Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Pissed Jeans, Mission of Burma, Melt-Banana, Between the Buried and Me, Annihilation Time and Sunn O))),  to name a few.  Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who, Kiss, Leslie West / Mountain, ..... need I say any more ?

(1) Needs a good clean-up common to vintage amps, and cosmetic rehab if desired.

(2) Someone cut 3" round holes in the cabinet with a hole saw, aparantly either to unoad the cabinet tuning to relieve resonance at high volume, or making the common classic mistake of thinking that  unvented cabinets need to be tuned and vented cabinets don't need to be tuned.  NOT .... it's the opposite.  Repair (if desired):  Remove the cabinet door; Take the same size hole saw and cut disc plugs out of same size plywood, ....seal the disc plugs with varnish, ....lightly screw backing plates onto the back of the discs to hold them flush with the interior surrounding cabinet plywood, ....epoxy the plugs into the holes, ....cover the front of the plugs with wax paper and and screw temporary flat plates onto the face, bridging the disc plugs to pull them up flush with the exterior plywood surface, ....allow to cure overnight, ....remove the temporary face plates, ....sand the disc plugs flush, ....paint the disc plugs to match the cabinet if desired;  And Voila, back to a properly tuned cabinet for about 10-20% more cabinet efficiency. (Or maybe someone cut the holes so he / she could play at high gain and master volume without causing internal bleeding among band members and front row ears) !
