LUBRICATING TUNERS:

About once a year, while the strings are removed during a re-stringing:

With the guitar held with it's neck pointing upward and headstock logo facing you; NO MORE THAN 1 drop of light machine oil should be applied to the top side of each string shaft between the string shaft and string-shaft ferrule;  Then turn the tuner 20 times in each direction to distribute the oil on the shaft in the ferrule.  Tri-Flow brand oil in their small hand-application bottle is excellent for guitar tuners;  It leaves a teflon lubricating film like automotive Slick 50.

Lubricate the back of the tuners with NO MORE THAN 1 small drop of light oil, at the top of each worm gears' troughs.  Then turn the tuner 20 times in each direction to distribute the oil onto the string shafts gears;  The oil will seep into the side mounting bosses from the ends of the worm gear.

TOO MUCH OIL LUBRICATING A GUITAR WILL WORK IT'S WAY DOWN MOUNTING SCREWS INTO WOOD AND TURN THE WOOD TO MUSH OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY OLD AGED WOOD.
The base plate piece of old wood floating bridges is very brittle and delicate.  Always loosen strings before adjusting bridge height.  And use care and caution when handling this piece when off of the guitar's flat deck.

Too keep fretboards and wood bridges from drying out;  Every year or two, wipe them lghtly but thoroughly with a clean soft rag moistened with a few drops of lemon oil, tongue oil or fretboard treatment oil, then wipe off
any excess with a dry,
soft, absorbant rag.
Raising the pickups closer to the strings for higher dynamics requires making and inserting shims like the one under the bridge pickup which can be used as a template.  I like to make several thin ones at the same time by stacking and C-clamping rough cut flat Tupperware plastic and then cutting and / or sanding them all to the same proper perimeter size.
Tupperware plastic has a consistancy that has a good balance between isolating the pickups from the body resonance and allowing some resonance to bleed through
  the mounting.  Isolation helps
         control resonant feedback if a
                wood hollow body guitar is
                       going to be played
                            loudly in a speaker
                                field.
