Old strap pins are prone to be pulled out of their holes.  Gluing them in makes removal of a pin difficult, especially if it breaks off inside like the old pin did.  SOLUTION:  (1) Prime the mounting hole lightly with thinned Elmer's Glue All, then; (2) Put a shim of masking tape onto the replacement pin (see below), then; (3) Coat masking tape with a water-thinned coat of Elmers, insert the pin into the hole and seat the pin.  The tape and it's own glue will provide compression and tack to hold the pin in tightly, ...yet will afford easier future removal of the pin than gluing it in directly.
The trapeze tailpiece is installed, aligned with the strap pin hole and tightened down.  Then the pin can be installed.
Tuning machines were removed for cleaning and lubrication with drops of Tri-Flow TPFE oil.  Screwholes sawdust under the tuning machines evidenced that the tuning machines were original to the guitar and had never been removed.  3 mismatched string shaft ferrules were replaced with original ferrules from the donor Harmony Stratotone.
After reassembly the guitar is strung, tuned, set-up and operationally tested.  It plays and sounds great.  The pickups can be set closer to the strings for a more dynamic signal if desired, ...by fabricating wood risers like the one put under the rear pickup at the factory.  Ace Hardware Lub-E light oil was applied to the guitar's finish and plastics with a soft rag and then wiped off, ...to refurbish it's aged / deplenished oils.  Lube-E is innocuous to finishes and plastics and is excellent for refurbishing old finishes and intact-plastics.  Hanging overnight, the oil film will allow the oils to sink in.  The guitar will be further wiped down prior to packing.  By the time it arrives at it's destination the oils should be stable and like a fine polish.  If it is too slick for personal preference, the slickness can be removed by wiping further with toilet paper or soft facial tissue paper. ~~~~~~~ The parts-donor Stratotone is on the right with it's parts cleaned up and bagged.  It will be packed away awaiting a ressurection in the future.
Strap pin installed.
