I abide by Industry Standard and do not clean up a vintage instrument's patina, UNLESS a Customer requests that I do, ....usually requested in a thorough clean-up. These tuners have only surface corrosion which will clean right up, or removing, oiling and rubbing them with fingers will remove the surface corrosion and leave an original patina. ~~~~~~~ The white cloudy substance on these tuners is wax residue from a preservative I put on the tuners. ~~~~~~~ Notice the one slightly bent tuner shaft the previous owner reported as being "different" from the others !
